Plugging it into the WAN port did nothing, but when I plugged it into one of the LAN ports, it actually seemed to take over as my main router. I also tried plugging the G1100 in via ethernet. But maybe I just need to somehow configure it as a MoCA adaptor? Should that work? I tried plugging each one into coax and it definitely didn't just "work". I'm fine with using them either as MoCA via coax or as traditional access points connected via ethernet since I have drops throughout my house. I'd like to use one (or both) of them to extend the wireless signal in my house. I also have a couple of older FiOS routers gathering dust in my attic that they never collected from me.
